Hello and Welcome to my website.

I am addicted to painting.

Painting seems to me the perfect way to express myself and it gives me such amazing pleasure. On top of that, I get just the biggest BUZZ when someone likes what I have painted, so much so that they want to own it themselves, so they may look at it whenever they choose. It is an amazing feeling that never lessens, no matter how many times it happens. Painting has introduced me to so many wonderful people, artists who have taught and encouraged me to pursue my passion with paint, they are now my friends and I love them all dearly. Also there are the people who I have met who have bought my works, (one man has nine) it has been my pleasure to meet these people and to connect with them through my paintings. The feeling is priceless.

As you can see, my subject matter is varied as I can be inspired by so many things. I spend so much of my time thinking ‘I want to paint that’ or ‘Ooh! I MUST paint that!’ My eyes see the world so differently now, I notice so much more in my surroundings, the beauty of light playing on surfaces, shadows, shapes, colours…..and I feel the atmosphere. Then off I go and lose myself completely putting paint to canvas trying to capture what I have felt and what I have seen, to preserve that exquisite moment in time.

My favourite medium is Oil for their delicious buttery texture and vibrancy of hue but I tend to paint a lot in Acrylic due to their quick drying time and ease of clean up. And, to be honest, I often find that the end result often looks so much like an oil painting one can hardly tell the  difference.

I live with my husband (and drop in children) in a Heritage listed house (Lenaville) in the vibrant port city of Fremantle, Western Australia and am very lucky to have my own Shop on the premises, which is now my Gallery.
