I paint because it excites me. When I think about it, painting for me is really storytelling without words, but with tones, texture, brushstrokes and colour.

A scene with a story, mood and atmosphere is what triggers my desire to paint. The effect on my senses and thoughts by the story of the scene I am witnessing is what inspires me.

Painting is how I express what I have seen and how it made me feel. Viewers of my work often describe my paintings as ‘moody’. I don’t think they realise that to me this is the biggest compliment they could give, to have painted the intangible.

Thanks to Dameon Jamie for getting this up and running for me and helping me learn how to manage the site.

It’s all unfamiliar to me at present, but I am learning quickly and pretty soon you will be viewing new artworks, videos of exhibitions and demonstrations and a whole lot more.
