DOB 20-1-1958, England.Debra is a self taught artist who took up painting in Watercolour in the year 2000. Encouraged by a sale of her first exhibited work, followed by a ‘Highly Commended’ for her second entered exhibition, she was highly motivated to continue with her painting. Debra then entered her art in exhibitions throughout the Perth Metropolitan area, where she sold many works and won several awards. Now totally addicted to painting, Debra became a member of The Wanneroo Art Society where she was introduced to Pastel. Pastel soon became her preferred medium and Debra joined the Pastel Society of Western Australia becoming Vice President of the Society in 2002, followed by President in 2003-2004. Debra has since moved on to Oils and Acrylics as her preferred medium, has become very serious in improving her work, attending several workshops at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst, NSW: Oils with Paul McCarthy, Acrylics with Herman Pekel (twice) and Watercolour with Charles Sluga and Watercolour with Alvaro Castagnet. Debra enters exhibitions throughout Australia and displays the majority of her works from home.
